Welcome!
100 Horsey Adventures is a project dedicated to riding, mapping and sharing 100 horse friendly riding routes across North West England
Why?
The BHS published a series of guidebooks back in 1994 which featured route descriptions, maps, info on parking, horse friendly B&Bs and any potential hazards. No equestrian centred guidebooks have been released since and yet the UK’s infrastructure has changed significantly and many of these routes aren’t as easy to access as they were 30 years ago. This website is to provide a central repository for as many horse riding routes as possible and to go one further than the original guidebooks by including up-to-date photos and information along with downloadable GPX files to make it as easy as possible to go on Horsey Adventures.

How To Use This Website
Select your county of choice from the top navigation bar. Each county page features a map with numbered pins on it. Click on each pin to view a popup preview of that route showing length, description and a photo. Click on the name of the route to go to that route’s page with more details, route description and route map including a downloadable GPX file. Every map allows you to zoom in and out, pan and print using the top left options. (Use this feature to print a paper copy of the route to take with you!) Alternatively, each county page also has a text list of all of the routes. You can click through to the individual routes this way too.
