The gate onto Old Pale Hill is still padlocked, preventing equestrian and bike access. It is believed that this is a third party act of vandalism but Delamere are investigating and hopefully it will be open again soon. Old Pale Hill can still be accessed via the other paths.

Oakmere Way Extension Proposed
The BHS are working with Tarmac to discuss the proposed Oakmere Way bridleway extension which would make a safe offroad loop around the quarry. The current brown dotted line on the map is the proposed bridleway route. At the moment, the Oakmere Way is only a linear route, reliant on the surrounding roads to make it into a viable loop. These fast country roads are used as cut throughs by commuters, making them unsuitable for horse riders. We look forward to more developments over the coming months!
The Oakmere Way is located east of Delamere Forest in Mid Cheshire.
