Route Description

1. Exit the car park back onto the road, turn right the way you drove in. Cross straight over the road and through a gate onto the bridleway into the forest. Follow the wide surfaced track as it weaves into the woods until you start to go downhill and then meet another gate.

2. Turn right, through the gate and onto the road. At the T junction, turn left and follow the road past the reservoir. This road usually has a line of parked cars on the right hand side. The road is quiet and mostly just used by visitors to the forest but there are occasional logging lorries.

3. At the next T junction and the pub, turn left and head into the village of Langley. Go past a smaller reservoir on your right and take the next right hand turning into a dead-end road which becomes a bridleway.

4. At Clough House, you will see a stone cobbled track off to the left, climbing sharply uphill. Following this will take you up to the top of Teggs Nose and the cafe! The car park at the top is plenty big enough to graze horses while you enjoy a coffee and the views. The return path is the same way you came though so make sure you’re happy with the steepness of the descent before ascending!

5. Once back to the main bridleway, continue along and weave your way up the stone walled track past several homesteads. The track eventually reaches a T junction where you turn right and follow a rutted yet grassy bridleway skirting the edge of the forest. The views are magnificent from this bridleway although depending on the time of year the pace can be slow. Continue to the end of the bridleway, straight through a tiny hamlet and turn right at the T junction, bringing you back to the car park.
